Alberto Comas has over 18 years of experience in technology leadership roles. Currently, they are working as the Vice President of Technology at NielsenIQ. In this position, they design complex solutions, leads teams, and makes key architectural decisions that impact the long-term strategy of the company.
Before joining NielsenIQ, Alberto worked at TransUnion for several years. Alberto served as the Head of Infrastructure for the Canadian, Latin American, and Caribbean markets, where they drove operational excellence and achieved groundbreaking system availability. Alberto also held roles such as Sr. Director of Cloud Platform Delivery, where they led cross-functional Agile teams and pioneered the development of streamlined devsecops operating models, and Sr. Director of Global Engineering & Operations, where they spearheaded multi-disciplinary Agile teams and achieved exceptional system availability.
Prior to TransUnion, Alberto worked at Baptist Health South Florida, where they managed a team of network engineers and oversaw ambitious deployment projects. Alberto also served as a Senior Network Engineer, where they architected and supported wired and wireless local area networks for a large healthcare system.
Alberto also has experience working at Health Benefits Direct as a Systems and Network Administrator, and at NeTeam Corp as a Senior RF Engineer.
Alberto Comas earned a B.Sc. degree in Electronics Engineering from Universidad del Norte in 2002. Alberto then pursued a Specialist degree in Telecommunication Systems from the same university in 2002-2003. Later, in 2003-2005, they obtained an M.Sc. degree in Telecommunications and Networking from Florida International University. Alberto went on to pursue an MBA in Business Administration from Florida International University's College of Business, completing it in 2012. In terms of additional certifications, they received an AWS Solutions Architect - Associate certification from Amazon Web Services in January 2020 and an AWS Advanced Networking Specialty certification in November 2020. Alberto also holds certifications in Business Strategy and Problem Solving from McKinsey & Company. Additionally, they possess an edX Honor Code Certificate for Tackling the Challenges of Big Data, completed between July 7, 2015, and August 18, 2015.
