Gemma Azuara

Gemma Azuara is a skilled medical interpreter currently working with Duke University Health System since August 2023. In addition, Gemma has been actively volunteering with Jehovah's Witnesses since January 2018, dedicating an average of 50 hours per month to assist Spanish and Swahili speakers in understanding the Bible and supporting refugees. Gemma's freelance interpreting experience includes roles with multiple companies, such as CyraCom Language Solutions, Niki's Int'l Ltd., and others, focusing on facilitating communication between non-English speaking clients and medical staff. Educational credentials include certificates in Language Interpretation and Translation from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, Delamora Institute, and Southern California of Interpretation.
