Sara Alvarez de Andres

Chief Medical Officer at NIMGenetics

Sara Alvarez de Andres has worked in various positions throughout their career. Sara started in 1994 as a Medical Fellow at the Hematology service at University Hospital Gregorio Marañón. From 1998 to 2001, they worked as a Research Associate at the Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in New York. In 2002, they joined the Spanish National Cancer Research Centre (CNIO) as a Senior Researcher, where they managed oncology molecular cytogenetics diagnosis and conducted genomic and epigenomic research on breast cancer and myeloid hematological disorders. Sara also supervised Phd students during this time. In 2008, they became the Chief Medical Officer at NIMGenetics, where they were responsible for technical innovation in medical genomics and the management of clinical diagnosis. Additionally, they served as a Board Councilor at NIMGenetics. In 2009, they joined Abacid-Hospital Madrid as a Specialist Assistant of oncology cytogenetics. Overall, Sara Alvarez de Andres has a wealth of experience in medical research and diagnosis, with a specific focus on oncology and genomics.

Sara Alvarez de Andres completed their Bachelor of Science in Medicine at the Faculty of Medicine at Madrid Complutense University from 1987 to 1992. Sara then pursued further education and obtained a Ph.D. in Medicine and Surgery from the Faculty of Medicine at Universidad Autónoma de Madrid, from 1997 to 2002.
