Fons de Vogel

Fons de Vogel is a PhD candidate at NIOZ Royal Netherlands Institute for Sea Research, specializing in marine microbiology and biogeochemistry, focusing on microbial life in the plastisphere and biodegradable plastics in marine settings. Previous roles include an internship at The Janssen Pharmaceutical Companies of Johnson & Johnson, where Fons created detailed process flow diagrams for monoclonal antibody production, and a research assistant position at Wageningen University & Research, supporting a master's thesis on bacteria culturing and conversion studies. Fons also completed significant internships at AMC and Wageningen University, engaging in molecular research and metabolic engineering projects, and holds a Master of Science in Biotechnology from Wageningen University and a Bachelor of Applied Science in Biology and Applied Medical Laboratory Technology from Avans University.
