Sjoerd Groeskamp currently serves as a Scientific Researcher at NIOZ Royal Netherlands Institute for Sea Research since November 2019. Prior to this role, Sjoerd held the position of Postdoctoral Researcher at UNSW from June 2017 to November 2019 and worked as a Postdoctoral Fellow at Columbia University in the City of New York from April 2015 to April 2017. Sjoerd began the academic journey as a PhD Candidate at the Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation from June 2011 to January 2015, in conjunction with the University of Tasmania, where a PhD in Oceanography, Chemical and Physical was obtained. Previous educational credentials include a Bachelor of Science in Physics and a Master of Science in Meteorology, Physical Oceanography and Climate, both earned at Utrecht University.
