Karine Borne

Karine Borne is a Water Quality Scientist at NIWA since October 2021, where projects focus on green infrastructures and Nature Based Solutions for stormwater and wastewater management. Previously, Karine held the position of Associate Professor at IMT Atlantique from September 2017 to September 2021, engaging in research on stormwater management and wastewater treatment, while also teaching various environmental engineering subjects. Prior to this, Karine served as a Research and Teaching Fellow at IMT Atlantique, managing international master's programs and conducting research on pollutants in constructed wetlands. With a robust background in environmental engineering, Karine has also worked as an Environmental Engineer at Artelia, contributing to impact assessments and waste management plans. Karine's academic credentials include a Ph.D. in Civil and Environmental Engineering from The University of Auckland and master's degrees in Industrial and Urban Environment Sciences and Industrial and Environmental Risks Management.
