Carolyn McWilliams has a diverse work experience in various roles related to mental health care and therapy.
Carolyn worked as a Mental Health Technician at Nix Health Care System in 2016.
Prior to that, they held the position of Program Director at ACCESS, FHR, Inc. from October 2014 to April 2016. In this role, they were responsible for the leadership, supervision, and daily operation of a crisis stabilization program for adults with mental illness and co-occurring disorders.
Before joining ACCESS, FHR, Inc., Carolyn was also a Program Director at Brandon House, FHR, Inc. from June 2014 to October 2014. Carolyn supervised a residential mental health crisis stabilization program and facilitated therapeutic groups and individual sessions for adults with mental illness.
From 2007 to 2014, Carolyn worked as an Exercise Therapist in the Recreation Therapy Department at the Northern Virginia Mental Health Institute. Carolyn facilitated therapeutic sessions for adults with mental illness and contributed to treatment planning.
In 2013, they interned as a Mental Health Emergency Services Intern at Loudoun County, where they answered calls, assessed clients, and made referrals to appropriate services.
In addition, Carolyn has experience as a Psychiatric Technician at the Northern Virginia Mental Health Institute and as a Dance Instructor and Cheerleading Coach at The Dancer's Workshop.
Carolyn McWilliams began their education at Dulaney High School, where they completed their secondary education from 1998 to 2002. Carolyn then attended East Carolina University, from 2002 to 2006, where they earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology. Continuing their academic pursuits, Carolyn enrolled at George Mason University from 2011 to 2014, where they obtained a Master of Education degree in Counseling.
