Isabell Lien started their work experience at the Norwegian School of Veterinary Science in 1984, where they served as a Technical Leader and later as a Personal Assistant to Prof. Halse. In 1988, they worked at Statoil (Noroil) via Bjørg Fjell temporary staff employment as the Leader of the Department for Control of Aircraft Fuel. Isabell then joined The Army Supply Command in 1989 as a Divisional Engineer. From 1992 to 2006, Isabell worked at Teknologisk Institutt as a Project Manager and later as a Consultant/Project Manager, where they were responsible for project management, technical work, and testing in projects related to paints, coatings, and emissions of organic compounds. In 2006, they joined Pera Norway (Nor-tek Teknologisenter) as a Senior Consultant and later became a Teamleader and a Negotiation Manager. Finally, since 2013, Isabell has been working at Nofima as the Head of the Secretariat/PM for The Packaging Convention-EK and the PM for Nofima's Organic Program.
Isabell Lien attended the Oslo University College of Applied Sciences from 1981 to 1983, where they pursued a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Industrial Chemistry. Later, from 1997 to 2000, they studied at the BI Norwegian Business School, specializing in Project Management.
