Michele Bush, Ph.D., has extensive experience in the food and beverage industry. Michele has held various roles in research and development (R&D) and quality management.
Starting in 1998, Dr. Bush worked at Merck, where they served as a Senior Regulatory Scientist and Senior Process Engineer. In these roles, they were responsible for drafting clinical applications, leading teams, and implementing process modifications for various products.
In 2007, Dr. Bush joined H.J. Heinz as a Manager of R&D, where they initiated the structure of a technical services organization within the company's frozen portfolio. Michele later became a Senior Manager, leading a team to resolve compliance and technical challenges across North American facilities.
Dr. Bush continued to progress in their career at Heinz, becoming a Group Leader in 2010. In this role, they led a cross-functional initiative to drive cost savings and managed a team focused on ingredient optimization.
In 2013, Dr. Bush joined Heinz Foods SA as the Director of R&D for Condiment and Sauces. Here, they oversaw the research and development of various products.
In 2014, Dr. Bush returned to H.J. Heinz as the Head of R&D, responsible for driving innovation and execution for the company's businesses including Heinz Ketchup, Classico, Smart Ones Frozen Meals, and Bagel Bites.
Dr. Bush then served as the VP of R&D for Grocery, Sauces, Frozen, and Meals at The Kraft Heinz Company from 2015 to 2019. In this role, they managed a team of 150 product developers and led disruptive innovation platforms.
After leaving Kraft Heinz, Dr. Bush worked as a consultant for MLB Consulting, LLC, providing technical and commercialization consulting services for various companies including Nonni's bakery, KODIAK Cakes, and Turing Labs.
Currently, Dr. Bush holds the position of VP R&D/Quality at Nonni's Foods LLC, where they are responsible for rebuilding the R&D function and leading the quality function, including factory QA, regulatory compliance, and consumer affairs.
Michele Bush, Ph.D. has a strong educational background in Chemical Engineering. Michele attended Penn State University where they obtained both their B.S. and Ph.D. degrees, although the specific start and end years of their education were not provided.
