Mihaela Alexandra Puica has a diverse range of work experience in the finance and research fields. Starting in 2013, they worked as a Research Trainee at the Center for Evolution and Earth Dynamics at the University of Oslo. Mihaela Alexandra then gained further research experience as a Research Trainee at the Royal Observatory of Belgium from 2011 to 2014. In 2014, they also worked as a Summer Intern at the Simula Research Laboratory. Moving into the finance industry, they joined Thomson Reuters in 2015 as a Power Analyst covering Asia, Australia, and the Americas. Mihaela Alexandra later transitioned to a role at Refinitiv, an LSEG business, where they served as a Senior Analyst for European Power from 2019 to 2021 and later became the Lead Analyst from August to October 2021. Most recently, they joined Norges Bank Investment Management in 2021, first as an Associate Trader and then as a Quantitative Trader starting in August 2023.
Mihaela Alexandra Puica's education history begins with their completion of a Bacalureat in Mathematics-Informatics at Mihai Viteazul National College in Bucharest from 2005 to 2009. Following this, they pursued a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics with a focus on Pure and Applied Mathematics at Universidad Complutense de Madrid from 2009 to 2013. Mihaela Alexandra then went on to earn a Master of Science (MS) degree in Mathematics, with a specialization in Stochastic Analysis, from the University of Oslo (UiO) between 2013 and 2015. Currently, Mihaela is engaged in their doctoral studies at UiO, where they are working towards a Doctor of Philosophy - PhD in Mathematics and Statistics, which began in 2017 and is expected to be completed by 2022.
