Previously, Richard held roles including Contract Manager, focusing on connections and fuel poverty initiatives, and Management Accountant at United Utilities, handling replacement expenditure. Richard holds a Bachelor of Arts (Hons) in Economics from Lancaster University, earned between 1988 and 1991, and completed education at Leeds Grammar School from 1981 to 1988.
