Richard Eastman is a Principal Scientist at Novartis Institutes for BioMedical Research (NIBR) since October 2022. Prior to this role, Richard served as Scientist and Group Lead for the Antiviral Program for Pandemics at the National Center for Advancing Translational Sciences (NCATS) from August 2015 to October 2022, and held various positions including Scientist and Biologist [C]. Richard's earlier experience includes a Postdoctoral Research Fellowship at the National Institutes of Health from October 2010 to August 2015 and another Postdoctoral Research Fellowship at Columbia University in the City of New York from March 2007 to September 2010. Additionally, Richard worked as a Research Associate at Albert Einstein College of Medicine and as a Visiting Scientist at the University of Washington. Richard earned a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Pathobiology from the University of Washington from 2002 to 2006 and a Bachelor’s Degree in Microbiology from the same institution from 1995 to 2002.
