Matt Davies

Matt Davies has a diverse work experience in various leadership roles in technology and software development companies. Matt is currently working as a Staff Engineer & Technical Lead at Novata, where they are involved in creating a customized platform for Environmental, Social, and Governance reporting in private markets. Prior to this, they founded and served as the CTO of Propellant Development, a role they held for two months in 2022.

Before that, from 2020 to 2022, Matt was the CTO and Founder of Filament, a data science notebook that facilitated data exploration and analysis for teams. During their tenure, they designed and developed the entire application and provided an innovative notebook experience to 700 data scientists.

Matt also founded and served as the CTO of Anomalous AI, a startup focused on AI-powered visual inspection and part identification software, from 2018 to 2020. Matt successfully secured £200k in investment from Boeing via the ATI Boeing Accelerator.

In 2017, they held two key roles. First, as the Lead UX Engineer at Sharktower, they led a redesign of the AI-powered project management software, improving the overall user experience. Second, as the Interim Technical Director at Ignite Your Brand, they led an Agile development team to enhance the technical capability of the creative agency.

Matt's entrepreneurial journey started in 2014 when they founded and served as the CEO of Agency Core, a project management software-as-a-service platform for creative agencies. Matt successfully raised investment, made sales, and defined the product vision. Prior to this, from 2010 to 2014, they founded and served as the Managing Director of Langarth, a digital agency providing development services to global brands such as DHL, Sony, and Manchester United. During this time, they led a talented team and delivered exceptional work.

Overall, Matt Davies has a strong background in technology leadership roles, with experience in founding and scaling tech startups, designing innovative software applications, and leading cross-functional teams.

From 2006 to 2010, Matt Davies attended the University of Surrey, where they pursued a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Business Management.
