Sofie Holdflod Nielsen is a scientist currently employed at Novo Nordisk since November 2023. Previously, Sofie served as an academic at Statens Serum Institut from June 2020 to September 2022, contributing to the scale-up and optimization of national SARS-CoV-2 PCR test capacity during the Covid-19 pandemic. Sofie's research experience includes a role as a research assistant at Københavns Universitet, where DNA extraction and whole genome sequencing were conducted, as well as supervising master's students on biodiversity research in Tanzania. Sofie also has teaching experience as a teaching assistant in a Herpetology summer course at Københavns Universitet. Early career roles included student assistant positions in clinical microbiology and biochemistry at Herlev Hospital and Gentofte Hospital. Sofie holds a master's degree in Biology with a focus on Ecology, a bachelor's degree in Biology, and additional qualifications in bioanalysis and general education.
