Sandra Hilmer

Sandra Hilmer has a diverse work experience spanning across various companies and roles. Sandra is currently working as the Director of People Communications at NSW Health starting from 2023. Prior to this, they worked at nbn™ Australia, where they held the positions of Transformation & Communications (Contract) and Executive Manager Employee Communications (Contract) from 2020 to 2023. From 2018 to 2019, Hilmer served as the Director of Internal Communications, Leadership OD, and D&I (Contract) at NSW Department of Industry. Sandra also worked as the Sydney Startup Hub - A/Director - Engagement & Communications (Contract) at Sydney Startup Hub from 2017 to 2018. In the past, Hilmer held positions such as the Head of Employee Communications & CSR - Serco Asia Pacific at Serco from 2015 to 2017, Senior Communications Adviser - Leadership at Telstra from 2011 to 2015, and Senior Communications Adviser at Telstra Wholesale from 2009 to 2011. Sandra also gained experience as a Communications Consultant at Ericsson from 2006 to 2008 and worked as a Marketing Communications Manager (Contract) at AMP Capital Investors in 2006. Their early career included the role of Public Affairs Manager (Contract) at AMP from 2005 to 2006, where they handled media relations, issues management, product launches, executive profiling, events, and campaign development and execution.

Sandra Hilmer holds a Master's Degree in Communication Management from the University of Technology Sydney. Sandra also has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and Modern History from UNSW. Additionally, Sandra has another Master's degree in Communications Management from the University of Technology Sydney.
