Adam Onishi

Adam Onishi has extensive work experience in the field of software engineering and front-end development. Adam is currently working at Numan as a Staff Engineer - Digital Experience Platform Lead, where they are responsible for leading the consumer-facing engineering teams and developing technical strategies. Prior to that, Adam worked as a Senior Frontend Engineer at Numan.

Before joining Numan, Adam worked as a Software Engineering Lead at Kano Computing from 2020 to 2022. Adam also served as a Senior Frontend Developer at Wunderman Thompson Commerce, where they contributed to the redesign of an e-commerce store and led the transition from a legacy Angular front-end to a modern React-based micro-services architecture.

Adam has also worked as a Freelance UI Developer at their own company, Onishi Ltd, from 2017 to 2020. During this time, they gained experience working on various projects. Additionally, they held contract roles as a Design Systems Architect at EF Education First, a Lead Front-end Developer at Saga plc., and a Front-end Developer at Financial Times.

Adam's earlier work experience includes positions at dxw, Architect Digital Agency, and Big Fish, where they served as a Developer/Designer and Frontend Developer, respectively. Their work experience spans from 2012 to the present, showcasing their expertise in frontend development, design systems, and technical leadership.

Adam Onishi received their Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from Oxford Brookes University, graduating in 2010. Prior to that, they earned a BTEC National Diploma in Computing from Oxford and Cherwell College in Banbury from 2002 to 2004. In 2018, they completed their Master of Arts degree in Photojournalism and Documentary Photography from the University of the Arts London.
