James Elford

James Elford has worked in the software engineering industry since 2010. In 2010, they interned as a Software Engineer at Vodafone, where they implemented an inter-process communication API for the 360 People client. In 2011, they worked as a Developer at LShift, where they worked on C#, IIS, ASP.NET, SQL Server, and Python/Django on Postgres/SQLite. James also worked as an Undergraduate Teaching Assistant at Imperial College London. In 2012, they worked as a Technical Analyst/Developer at Nomura, where they worked on Fixed Income's trade booking/valuation/risk analysis platform. James also worked as a Software Developer at Imperial Consultants, developing a management front-end for a distributed network of embedded devices. In 2013, they worked as a Development Lead (Execution) at Aspect Capital, where they worked closely with the research and trading teams to cover the implementation of their execution algos, market access, and custom trading workflows. In 2021, they worked as a Software Engineer at Optiver. Currently, they are working as a Software Developer at Numerai.

James Elford studied Joint Maths & Computer Science at Imperial College London from 2008 to 2012. Prior to that, they attended King Edward VIth School from 2001 to 2008. James also holds two certifications: Amazon Web Services Solutions Architect Associate from Amazon Web Services (AWS) obtained in November 2018, and DSDM Atern Agile Project Management (Foundation) (lapsed) from DSDM Foundation.
