Kevin Fernandez has a diverse work experience in the healthcare and education sectors. Kevin began their career in 2009 as a Youth Services Health Intern for the Beach Cities Health District, where they developed and facilitated nutritional lesson plans for 800 students in the South Bay area. In 2011, they became a Leadership Coach for arc: After School & Experiential Education, where they created and implemented extended learning programs for inner-city youth from disadvantaged backgrounds in the Los Angeles Area. In 2013, they took on a role as a Kayaking Instructor & Guide for UC Berkeley's Recreational Sports Marketing Group. In 2015, they became an ACO Performance Coordinator for the National Rural Accountable Care Consortium, where they used Medicare claims data and clinical data from various electronic health records systems to oversee alignment with quality standards and financial benchmarks set by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services. In 2016, they joined Caravan Health as a Senior Business Analyst and Performance Improvement Analyst, where they reviewed, trended, reported, and interpreted population health data to better understand total cost, utilization, and quality of care. In 2017, they took on a freelance role as a SQL/Tableau Data Analyst. In 2021, they joined UnitedHealth Group as a Senior Data Engineer. Finally, in 2022, they became a Senior Healthcare Data Analyst for Nuna Inc.

Kevin Fernandez attended the University of California, Berkeley from 2010 to 2015, where they earned a Bachelor of Arts in Chemistry & Public Policy. During their time at UC Berkeley, they also attended the Goldman School of Public Policy in 2014 to gain additional experience in Public Policy Analysis. Additionally, they hold a certification in First Aid from the American Red Cross.
