Mary Osterbind Moerlins has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries. Mary began their career at Fernbank Museum of Natural History, where they served as an Early Childhood Educator and later as a Children's Program Specialist. Mary then moved on to Piedmont Park Conservancy, where they held the roles of Education Program Manager and eventually became the Director of Education and Sustainability. In this position, they oversaw educational and sustainability initiatives, implemented LEED and sustainability infrastructure, and enforced Best Management Practices. Currently, Mary is employed at NW Natural, where they have held various positions including Sustainability Coordinator, Community Affairs & Environmental Programs Manager, Corporate Citizenship Manager, and is currently serving as the Director of Environmental Policy & Corporate Responsibility.

Mary Osterbind Moerlins has a diverse education history with a focus on various fields. Mary obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biological Sciences from Agnes Scott College, graduating in the year 2005. Following this, they pursued a Master of Public Administration degree from Georgia State University, specializing in Public Administration, which they completed between 2008 and 2010.

In 2016, Mary earned a Graduate Certificate in Utility Management from Willamette University, acquiring knowledge in this specific area. A year later, in 2017, they obtained a Management Certificate in Corporate Citizenship from the Boston College Carroll School of Management, further expanding their skill set.

Continuing their pursuit of knowledge in the energy sector, Mary completed a one-year program at the University of Idaho, earning an Energy Executive Leadership degree in the year 2021, with a focus on Energy.

Additionally, Mary holds a Professional Certificate in Tribal Relations obtained from Portland State University in July 2020, showcasing their commitment to understanding and working within the context of tribal communities.
