Josef F. Stuefer is a seasoned senior policy advisor and program manager at NWO (Dutch Research Council) since June 2009, where responsibilities include coordinating the NWO-Caribbean Research Program and managing national and international research funding programs focused on oceans and climate. Previous roles include serving as a policy advisor at the Ministry of Education, Culture and Science in the Netherlands and as Editor-in-Chief for Evolutionary Ecology at Springer Publishing. An academic background features an Assistant Professorship at Radboud University and post-doctoral fellowships at various institutions, including Utrecht University and the University of Sussex. Education includes a PhD in ecology from Utrecht University, an ecological internship at the University of Sussex, and a degree in Botany/Plant Biology from Universität Innsbruck.
