Chris Badurek, PhD, GISP, is a Full Professor and Co-Chair of the Computer Applications Program as well as Department Chair of Geography at the State University of New York Cortland, where responsibilities include teaching a range of courses in Geographic Information Systems (GIS), programming, and remote sensing technologies. Badurek also serves as the Director of Research for the Institute for Geospatial and Drone Technology, focusing on regional research and community outreach. Additional roles include Adjunct Professor at St. John Fisher College, Past President and current officer of the NYS GIS Association, UAS/Drone Instructor at SkyOp LLC, and former committee member of the GIS Certification Institute's Exam Development Committee. Educational background includes a PhD in Geography from the University at Buffalo, an MBA from SUNY Brockport, and dual Bachelor degrees in Biology and Psychology from Cornell University.
