Sara Wheeler

Sara Wheeler currently serves as the General Counsel and Company Secretary at NZX Limited since January 2022. Prior to this role, Sara was a Member of the Board of Trustees at Woodhill Sands Trust (December 2022 - June 2024) and worked as a Senior Associate at Tompkins Wake for a brief period in late 2021. From October 2018 to September 2021, Sara held the position of General Counsel for Fletcher Building, overseeing legal risk management for various business divisions. Earlier career highlights include roles such as Head of Legal, Risk & Compliance at JBWere, Senior Legal Counsel at SKYCITY Entertainment Group, and significant tenure at Macquarie Group, culminating as Managing Director & Head of Legal for Macquarie Capital EMEA. Sara holds a BA/LLB from the University of Otago and graduated from Wellington Girls' College.
