Dr. Terry Olson

Dr. Terry Olson, M.D., CPC has extensive work experience in the healthcare industry. Dr. Terry served as the Senior Vice President Accountable Care at Oak Street Health from 2015 onwards. At Oak Street Health, Dr. Olson focused on providing quality healthcare services to adults on Medicare in medically-underserved communities. Dr. Terry developed a new care model based on value for patients rather than volume of services, taking on the risks and costs of their care.

Prior to that, from 2014 to 2015, Dr. Olson worked at NW Permanente Medical Group as a Physician Resource Steward. In this role, they used analytics, network management, and care coordination to reduce the inpatient day rate and improve the efficiency and member experience of the Added Choice point of service product.

From 2010 to 2014, Dr. Olson served as the Senior Clinical Executive at Heritage Provider Network. Dr. Terry managed a provider network in a full risk model and implemented capitation contracts for ancillary services with a large hospital system. Dr. Terry also oversaw cost management and implemented programs to improve CMS star ratings and HCC.

Before that, Dr. Olson was the Medical Director at The Regence Group from 2006 to 2010 and at Providence Health and Services from 1992 to 2006. Additionally, they worked as a practicing Internal Medicine physician at Providence Medical Group from 1992 to 2006.

Dr. Terry Olson, M.D. CPC completed their education in a chronological order. Dr. Terry earned their High School Diploma from Jesuit High School in the year 1980. Following that, they completed their BS in Biology from the University of Notre Dame in 1984. Dr. Terry further pursued their MD in Medicine from Health and Science jobs, and graduated in 1988. Finally, they attended Emory University and completed their Chief Resident in Internal Medicine Residency from 1988 to 1992.
