Lisa Shemie

Lisa Shemie is the current General Counsel and Corporate Secretary at OANDA. Lisa has held this position since October 2021. Prior to that, they were a member of the Market Risk Advisory Committee (MRAC) and Co-Chair of the MRAC Market Structure Subcommittee at the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission from June 2018 to October 2021. From February 2018 to March 2020, Lisa was the Chair of the Foreign Exchange Professionals Association. Prior to that, they were Assistant General Counsel at Cboe Global Markets from June 2016 to January 2017. Before that, Lisa worked as Executive Director and Assistant General Counsel at JPMorgan Chase from December 2005 to June 2016. From June 2004 to November 2005, they were Senior Vice President and Associate General Counsel at RBS Greenwich Capital. Lisa started their career as Legal Counsel at Banca Intesa San Paolo (formerly Banca Commerciale Italiana) from January 2001 to May 2004. Lisa then worked as an associate at Davies Ward Phillips & Vineberg LLP (formerly Goodman Phillips & Vineberg) from October 1998 to December 2000 and at Holland & Knight LLP (formerly Gilbert Segall and Young LLP) from September 1996 to October 1998.

Lisa Shemie has a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) and a Bachelor of Civil Law (B.C.L.) from McGill University, as well as a Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com.) in International Finance from Concordia University.
