Subject Matter Expert – Executive Acquisition Program Analyst, USAF Acquisition (saf/aqp) at OBXtek

Dan Crawford has a diverse work experience in various roles and positions within the military and defense industry. Dan began their career in 1984 with various duty assignments, including B-52 operations and nuclear deterrence alert tours. From 2005 to 2006, they served as the Chief of Plans & Programs for the 340th Flying Training Group, where they managed long-range planning and secured funding for building renovations. From 2006 to 2008, they led the 5th Flying Training Squadron, overseeing training programs for pilots from various branches. As the Squadron Commander for the 710th Combat Operations Squadron from 2008 to 2010, they reorganized the unit to improve efficiency and readiness. From 2010 to 2013, they served as a Reserve Advisor to the Global Strike Command Director, developing strategic plans and managing a $9 billion nuclear deterrence portfolio. Subsequently, they held roles such as a National Capital Region Liaison and Principal Nuclear Weapons Analyst before joining OBXtek in 2017 as a Subject Matter Expert.

Dan Crawford has a Bachelor of Science degree in Physics from Kent State University, which they obtained between the years 1980 and 1984. Later, between 1992 and 1995, they pursued a Master's Degree in Aeronautical Science with a field of study in Aviation Management at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University. In 2012 to 2013, Dan attained a Graduate Certificate from the Department of Engineering Physics at the U.S. Air Force Institute of Technology, specializing in Nuclear Weapons Effects, Policy, and Proliferation.
