Matt Clements

Matt Clements, PMP, is an accomplished facilities engineering professional with extensive experience in the oil and gas industry. Currently serving as Facilities Engineering Team Lead at Occidental since May 2018, Matt oversees projects in the New Mexico and Texas Delaware basins. Prior to this role, Matt held positions at Surge Energy America and ConocoPhillips, where responsibilities included designing and implementing production batteries, retrofitting existing facilities, managing gathering infrastructure, and leading multiple large-scale facility projects totaling over $80 million. Throughout their career, Matt has demonstrated expertise in hydraulic modeling, project definition, and cross-functional collaboration, with a solid educational background in Chemical Engineering and Chemistry from Texas A&M University.
