Manuel Parente

Manuel Parente has a diverse work experience spanning several industries and roles. Manuel is currently the Chief Information Officer at Ocean Infinity, where they lead a team in developing advanced remote and autonomous systems and data analytics solutions for the maritime industry. Previously, they served as the Director of Software Engineering at Ocean Infinity.

Before joining Ocean Infinity, Manuel founded Abyssal in 2010 and served as the Founder and CTO until 2021. Prior to that, they co-founded and served as the Chief Technical Officer at PracticalWay Software Portugal S.A. from 2008 to 2012.

Manuel has also been involved in various roles at JuniFEUP, including CEO, Marketing Department Director, and Project Manager from 2004 to 2008. Manuel has experience in managing computer technology projects and lecturing. Additionally, they held positions at Junior Enterprises Portugal, JuniPharma - Junior Enterprise (Pharmaceuticals), JCI Portugal, JuniPharma - Junior Entreprise, and ISPTEL, where they gained experience in international management, IT management, and software development.

Through their extensive experience, Manuel has demonstrated expertise in information technology infrastructure, strategy development, project management, and team leadership.

Manuel Parente completed their education at the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) from 2023 to 2033, earning a degree in Strategic Decision Making for Management with a focus on Business Administration, Management, and Operations. Before that, they studied at Faculdade de Engenharia da Universidade do Porto from 2002 to 2007, where they completed their fourth year of studies in Computer Engineering. In addition to their academic achievements, Manuel also obtained a certification in BOSIET/HUET/EBS - 5700 from Falck in June 2014.
