Maurice E. Kordahi

Dr. Maurice E. Kordahi is OPT’s Vice President, Engineering and Operations, based in the company's New Jersey headquarters. Maurice joined OPT in November 2020 with deep expertise in undersea fiber optic cabling and hardware, energy storage, and cable ship equipment design for the telecom, energy, and oil and gas industries.

Maurice was most recently managing director of all undersea hardware development at TE Connectivity SubCom, where he was responsible for the design, introduction to manufacturing, and field deployment of all underwater product lines including, fiber optic amplifiers, cables, risers, housings, couplings, and joints. He pioneered the integration of wet mate connectors into the O&G Telecom networks and established undersea manufacturing facilities along with new technologically advanced lines. He was also on the Bell Laboratories team that developed and installed the first undersea fiber optic systems in the 1980s. A founding member of the Universal Quick Joint/Universal Joint/Universal Coupling Governing Boards, Maurice is also an adjunct Professor of graduate mechanical engineering at Stevens Institute of Technology and has more than 20 patents to his credit. Immediately prior to joining OPT, Maurice was president and CTO of A-II Engineering.
