Mir Usman Amjad

Mir Usman Amjad has a strong background in solution engineering and project management. Mir Usman started their career as a Process & OTS Engineer at Avanceon MEA, where they designed and engineered performance monitoring systems for customers. Mir Usman then moved on to become a Lead Process & Energy Engineer, specializing in equipment performance evaluation and energy audits. At Avanceon MEA, they also served as a Manager Advanced Process Control (APC) and Manager Process Optimization, where they handled technical consultancy and sales of advanced solutions.

Mir Usman Amjad later joined Octopus Digital Ltd. as a Technology & Process Consultant, setting up a business in energy and process optimization solutions. Mir Usman then worked at Engro Corp as a Team Leader before joining EmpiricAI as the Leader of Solution Engineering. In both roles, they led teams of engineers and provided services and solutions in overall equipment efficiency and performance monitoring.

Currently, Mir Usman Amjad is employed at Octopus Digital as the Head of Department Digital Solution Design & Engineering. In this role, they are responsible for strategy development, product design and development, and project management. Mir Usman leads a team of engineers in developing industrial engineering products and providing services such as performance monitoring and prediction and key performance indicators.

Mir Usman Amjad completed their Bachelor of Science (B.Sc) degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of the Punjab in 2006. Additionally, they have obtained various certifications including Basic Statistics from the University of Amsterdam in 2021, Learning AWS CloudFormation, Learning Python, and Learning R from LinkedIn in 2021. Mir Usman also obtained certifications in Power Plant Performance Modeling using Ebsilon Professional from STEAG Energy Services GmbH in 2020, Power Plant Performance Modeling using MapEx Software from MapEx Software Inc. in 2017, and Project Management Professional (PMP) from the Pakistan Institute of Management in 2017. Other certifications include Advanced Process Control (APC) Using Rockwell's Pavilion8 Model Predictive Control (MPC) from Rockwell Automation in 2014, Control Loops Optimization from Honeywell Process Solutions in 2013, Operator Training Simulator (OTS) from Honeywell Process Solutions in 2009, UniSim Design & Operations from Honeywell Process Solutions in 2009 and Avanceon Middle East & South Asia in 2009, and Aspen HYSYS from Avanceon Middle East & South Asia in 2009.
