Giovanna Fernandes has a long and varied work experience in the field of data science and marketing. Giovanna started their career in 2001 as a Sponsorships Specialist at Banco do Brasil, where they were responsible for selecting and coordinating sponsorships of cultural projects, increasing programs attendance and media coverage by 35%. Giovanna then moved on to become a Senior Marketing Communication Analyst, where they planned and coordinated annual integrated communications campaigns while managing up to 10 projects concurrently. Giovanna then moved on to become a Freelance Marketing and CSR Consultant at Fruitful Strategy in 2011, and a Freelance Copywriter and Social Media Manager at Shutterstock in 2013. In 2015, they founded their own company, må bra, where they created the brand identity and marketing plan, and led product development of undergarments for nursing mothers. In 2016, they worked as a Brazil Social Media Concierge at Xperience, and in 2019 they graduated from the Flatiron School Data Science Bootcamp, where they worked on several data science projects. Finally, in 2020 and 2021, Giovanna worked as a Data Scientist and then Head of Machine Learning at PredictWise and Ocurate respectively, where they worked with large datasets, refined identity resolution technology, and lead LTV prediction work.

Giovanna Fernandes has a diverse educational background. In 1997-2001, they earned a Bachelor's degree in Communications with a concentration in Advertising from Universidade de Brasília. From 2006-2007, they completed a Post baccalaureate Specialization in Marketing and Communication Management from USP - Universidade de São Paulo. In 2009-2010, they attended San Francisco State University to pursue a Master of Business Administration (MBA), but did not complete the degree. Most recently, in 2019-2020, they completed a Data Science Bootcamp from Flatiron School, specializing in Data Science.
