Saman Weerasinghe

Saman Weerasinghe has worked in the software engineering field for over 13 years. From 2007 to 2011, they worked as an Application Developer at Make Stuff Happen (PVT) Ltd, where they worked on web projects using PHP, C#, and Java, as well as mobile application development for the first iPhone from Apple. From 2011 to 2013, they worked at Synapsys as a Technical Lead. From 2013 to 2016, they worked at Creation Application as a Technical Architect, where they identified company/client needs, selected project technology stacks, broke down large scale projects into manageable chunks, found the best tech solutions to solve business problems, and produced documents to monitor progress and ensure the quality of the project. From 2016 to 2019, they worked at Salpo Technologies as a Software Architect, where they performed similar tasks as at Creation Application. Currently, they are the Vice President of Engineering/Chief Software Architect at oDoc, where they lead the team through management and mentoring, actively contributes to recruitment activities, and oversees the daily workflow of the department.

Saman Weerasinghe is currently enrolled in a MSc in Information Technology program at Cardiff Metropolitan University, with a focus in Computer Engineering. Saman previously obtained a BSc Software Engineer from the Open University of Sri Lanka in the field of Information Technology. Saman also holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Ruhuna. In addition, they have obtained a TypeScript Essential Training certification from LinkedIn in November 2022.
