James Douthwaite

James Douthwaite is a Senior Scientist at Odyssey Therapeutics since January 2024, following a Postdoctoral Research Fellowship at the University of Michigan from January 2021 to January 2024, where research focused on synthetic organic chemistry and high throughput experimentation. Between October 2016 and November 2020, James completed a PhD at the University of Cambridge, studying non-covalent interactions in transition metal catalysis while also providing undergraduate supervision and teaching. Prior experience includes an industrial placement at Bayer CropScience, where James synthesized over 300 novel small molecules and presented research at the Mike Rothwell Symposium 2015. Academic credentials include a Master’s Degree in Chemistry from the University of Bristol and foundational education at Malton School.
