Tom Stapylton-Smith

Tom Stapylton-Smith has a diverse work experience spanning several years. Tom most recently worked as a Business Intelligence Analyst at OfferZen since July 2022. Prior to that, they held multiple roles at 2U, including Business Intelligence Analyst from November 2021 to July 2022, Marketing Data Analyst from April 2021 to November 2021, and Junior Digital Marketing Analyst from February 2019 to April 2021. Tom also worked as a Digital Sports Editor at ESPN International from February 2018 to December 2018. Before that, they served as a Social Media Manager at RugbyUnited from February 2017 to February 2018. Additionally, Tom had internships at Engage Digital Partners from November 2017 to December 2017 and at Old School Group from November 2016 to February 2017.

Tom Stapylton-Smith has a diverse education history. Tom first attended Stellenbosch University from 2013 to 2016, where they obtained a Bcomm Management Sciences degree with a focus on Information Systems Management. Tom later returned to Stellenbosch University in 2017 to pursue a BAHons Journalism degree, specializing in Digital Communication and Media/Multimedia.

In addition to their formal education, Tom has also acquired several certifications. Tom completed a course on Data Monetization Strategy: Creating Value Through Data at the MIT Sloan School of Management in January 2022. Prior to that, in January 2021, they completed a Business Analytics course at the University of Cape Town. Tom also holds a certification in Data Analysis for Management from The London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE), obtained in April 2020.

With a keen interest in public speaking, Tom completed a certification in Speaking in Public: Storytelling, Influence, and Presence through GetSmarter in 2021. Furthermore, they acquired skills in management analytics from MIT Sloan School of Management through a course titled Management Analytics: Decision-Making Lessons from the Sports Industry in November 2019.

Tom's educational journey began earlier with certifications in Driver obtained from Western Cape Government in January 2013 and International Computer Drivers License - Level One (ICDL) from ICDL Africa in September 2008. Lastly, they hold a United Kingdom Ancestry Visa, which they obtained in August 1994.
