Charlotte Gibson

Senior Strategy Manager at Ofgem

Charlotte Gibson has extensive work experience in the energy sector, spanning over 25 years. Charlotte is currently working as a Senior Strategy Manager at Ofgem since November 2022. Prior to that, they worked at Llywodraeth Cymru / Welsh Government in various roles, including Heat Strategy Lead, Renewable Energy and Heat Policy, Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy Policy, and Energy Efficiency and Fuel Poverty Policy. During their time at Llywodraeth Cymru, they were involved in developing and delivering energy policies, managing energy programs, and conducting research projects. Before joining the Welsh Government, Charlotte worked at Energy Saving Trust as an Assistant Manager, promoting their programs in Wales. Charlotte also worked at the Association for the Conservation of Energy as a Researcher, focusing on energy efficiency projects. Earlier in their career, they conducted research at Imperial College London on the international coal industry and at Heriot-Watt University as a Researcher. Charlotte started their career as a Scientist at Advantica.

Charlotte Gibson has a strong educational background in the field of science and engineering. Charlotte began their education at Hemel Hempstead School, where they attended from 1984 to 1991. After completing their secondary education, they enrolled at the University of York, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Chemistry from 1991 to 1994. Building on this foundation, Charlotte went on to pursue further studies at Imperial College London, where they earned a Masters of Science (MSc) degree in Environmental Engineering Technology/Environmental Technology from 1997 to 1998.

Additionally, Charlotte obtained the certification of Associate Member from the Energy Institute in January 1997.
