Senior Policy Manager at Ofgem

Maria Myers has a diverse work experience spanning several industries and roles. Starting in 2014, they worked as an English Teacher at Päiväkoti Kinderi until 2015. In 2015, they joined Leeds City Council as a Placement Student for a few months. From 2013 to 2016, they worked at the University of Leeds as both an Outreach Intern and a Student host. In 2016, they became a Schools Liaison Officer at Royal Holloway, University of London, a role they held until 2017. Following this, they worked as a Schools and Colleges Liaison Officer at Oxford Brookes University from 2017 to 2019. After that, they joined the Office for Students as a Senior Officer in Compliance and Student Protection until 2023. Most recently, Maria was employed at Ofgem as a Senior Policy Manager from August 2023 onwards.

Maria Myers has a diverse educational background. Maria began their education at Pembrokeshire College from 2009 to 2011, where they completed their A levels. Afterward, they enrolled at Pembrokeshire College again in 2011 for a foundation degree in art and design. In 2012, Maria attended the University of Leeds, where they pursued a bachelor's degree in English and Theology and Religious Studies with industry, which they completed in 2016. Maria'seducation journey continued at the University of Bristol from 2018 to 2021, where they obtained their MSc in International Security.
