Michael Pokojovy

Michael Pokojovy is an accomplished academic and professional in the field of data science and statistics, currently serving as an Associate Professor of Data Science at Old Dominion University since August 2023. Prior to this role, Michael held the position of Assistant Professor of Data Science & Statistics at The University of Texas at El Paso from May 2017 to August 2023. Michael's diverse experience includes serving as Assistant Vice President (Quantitative Risk) at State Street in early 2023, a Visiting Data Science Faculty member at Microsoft in mid-2022, and a postdoctoral researcher at Karlsruher Institut für Technologie and Charles University in Prague. Additionally, Michael has contributed to academia as a visiting professor at The University of Memphis and a PhD Research Associate at the University of Konstanz, where Michael also completed a PhD in Mathematics and Statistics. Michael's professional journey began as a programmer at Unicorn from May 2003 to May 2004.
