Ted is a Partner and Global Head of Financial Services. Prior to this, Ted led Oliver Wyman Financial Services in Europe and served as the Global Head of the Corporate & Institutional Banking Practice.
Ted's background is in mathematics and control engineering, which was his specialty for a number of years before joining Oliver Wyman. Ted has concentrated on investment banking strategy, and in recent years has led several bank-wide initiatives for global bulge firms, looking at strategic opportunities across all business lines and reporting regularly directly to the executive committees on a range of issues. Not the least of these issues since the crisis has been regulatory reform and restructuring, a topic for which Ted has had a high degree of focus, particularly in assisting banks to reposition their strategy and operations. Ted also advises several policymakers, and industry and regulatory bodies pushing for sound policy and regulatory rule-making.
His consulting expertise encompasses a number of portfolio and business line strategic reviews across securities trading, corporate finance, corporate banking, transaction banking and securities services. Ted has carried out significant work at the group banking level around financial resources including funding, balance sheet, and RWA optimization. In addition, he has carried out substantial work on operating structure redesign, cost optimization, and front-to-back realignment.
In 2010, Ted was named in the prestigious Financial News 'Rising Stars' list, which identifies the brightest up-and-coming professionals in European financial services.
