Tom Gardner has had an extensive career in business, beginning with a Group Vice President role at Johnson & Johnson in 1974. At Johnson & Johnson, they led the marketing and R&D teams that made Tylenol the number 1 H&BA brand in the U.S. In 1987, they became President of Simon & Schuster Consumer Group, and in 1990 they were appointed CEO of IMS America. In 1995, they became CEO of Access Health, Inc., a technology-leveraged information service supporting the health insurance industry. In 1997, they became CEO of Base Ten Systems, a publicly-traded software company, and divested the defense contractor division to Smiths Aerospace. In 2000, they became CEO of Datamonitor plc, a business information company, and took it public on the London Stock Exchange in November of that year. In 2002, they became CEO of Songbird Hearing. In 2004, they founded KeyView LLC, an operating investment firm for startup to early stage healthcare companies. In 2017, they co-founded BRIDGE Angel Investors. Lastly, in 2014, they founded Omeza, a professional and consumer skin innovations company with a technology platform based on omega3 oil.
Tom Gardner attended the University of St. Thomas (Minnesota) from 1966 to 1969, where they earned a BA in Economics/Mathematics.
