Senior Vice President, M&A/Strategic Partnerships at Onboard Partners

Jay Astle has a diverse work experience spanning over two decades. Jay began their career in the United States Marine Corps, where they served as a Captain and led a team responsible for supply and maintenance support. After their military service, Jay worked as a Consultant at Unisys, specializing in privacy and security issues in the healthcare and financial industries.

In 2004, Jay joined SAIC as a Cost Analyst, where they managed, tracked, and analyzed costs for a $15 million budget supporting the U.S. Army chemical weapons destruction program. Jay then moved on to Chase, where they held the position of Small Business Credit Card Product Manager. In this role, they managed the profit and loss of five partner co-branded business card products and worked to ensure profitable portfolio growth.

Jay later joined JPMorgan Chase & Co., where they held various roles over the course of ten years. As the VP of Product Innovation in Chase Consumer Bank, they leveraged their deep understanding of profitability drivers to drive product innovation and identify expense reduction opportunities. Additionally, they worked in M&A and Strategic Investments for Chase Card Services, where they were responsible for modeling, evaluating, and presenting investment opportunities.

Most recently, Jay worked at Onboard Partners, formerly known as the Kessler Group, as the Senior Vice President of M&A/Strategic Partnerships. In this role, they advised clients, including large issuing banks and Fintechs, on portfolio transactions and strategic decisions. Jay sourced opportunities, led diligence efforts, and built financial valuations, as well as advised on strategy and funding for various Fintech companies.

Throughout their career, Jay has demonstrated strong analytical, strategic thinking, and leadership skills. Jay has successfully led cross-functional teams and delivered outstanding results in various industries.

Jay Astle obtained a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) degree in Corporate Finance and Operations from the University of Maryland - Robert H. Smith School of Business between 2000 and 2002. Prior to that, they completed their Bachelor's Degree from the United States Naval Academy from 1990 to 1995. Jay'shigh school education was completed at Severn School.
