Naveena Balam

Naveena Balam has extensive work experience in risk and compliance, particularly in the technology sector. Naveena currently holds the position of VP Risk & Compliance at Onfido since September 2021. Prior to this, they served as the Director of Technology Risk and Compliance at Onfido starting from July 2018.

Before joining Onfido, Naveena worked at Deutsche Bank from September 2014 to May 2018 as the Information & Technology Risk Governance, CISO - Programme Manager. Prior to that, they were a Principal GRC Consultant at Integrc from May 2012 to August 2014.

Naveena gained valuable experience at KPMG from February 2011 to April 2012 as a Senior Manager / Principal Advisor. Before that, Naveena worked at Deloitte LLP as a Manager from November 2005 to January 2011.

Naveena started their career at Shell Oil Company, where they worked as part of the Internal Audit team with a focus on SAP functional, process controls, governance, and risk from 2006 to 2010. Naveena began their professional journey as a Senior Consultant at Ernst & Young in 2004, gaining valuable consulting experience.

Naveena Balam completed their MSc in Corporate Risk and Security Management from the University of Southampton in 2003-2004. In addition, they obtained the Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) certification from the Information Systems Audit and Control Association in September 2005. Furthermore, they also obtained the Certified Information Security Manager (CISM) certification from ISACA in February 2017.
