Lisa Kaspin-Powell has a diverse work history in medical and scientific writing. Lisa started their career as a Medical Writer at Pacific Communications in 2002 and later worked as a Freelance Editor at Health Point Press in 2006. From 2003 to 2014, Lisa served as a Senior Research Associate (Editor/Researcher) at Cerner Research, where they focused on evidence-based medical decision making and electronic health record systems. During their time at Cerner Research, they also worked as a Freelance Medical Writer at McKesson Specialty Health. In 2014, Lisa became a Medical Editor at Motive Medical Intelligence, where they analyzed and synthesized medical evidence and contributed to patient education documents. Lisa then joined Oxford PharmaGenesis as an Associate Consultant in the Value Demonstration Practice from 2016 to 2017. Lisa Kaspin-Powell holds a PhD in Biochemistry from Purdue University. Lisa also earned a BS in Microbiology from UCLA and an MSPH in Nutritional Biochemistry from UCLA Fielding School of Public Health. In addition to their degrees, Lisa has obtained certifications including the Board-Certified Editor in the Life Sciences from the Board of Editors in the Life Sciences in October 2016, and the American Medical Writers Association Core Certification in Editing/Writing from the American Medical Writers Association (AMWA) in November 2005.
