About the opportunity

The Business Development Representative role at Ontra is an exciting opportunity for someone who is looking to build a career in sales within a world class sales organization. 

In this role, you will continue building upon your sales foundation for a successful career in business development by working closely with Ontra’s Account Executives and Account Directors to book meetings and help close deals. If you are a collaborative team player and enjoy the thrill of driving pipelines that will lead to new customers, we would love the opportunity to get to know you!

This role will report directly to one of our Business Development Managers, and the preferred location for this role is London.

What you'll do

  • Research & Prospecting: Support lead generation by conducting research and helping the Sales team curate prospect lists
  • Cold Outreach: Make 30 calls and send 50 emails per day in order to hit a goal of booking 10 meetings per month 
  • Sales Operations: Manage calendars, external resources, and efficiency tools to coordinate meetings, pitch activities, and conduct outbound campaigns
  • Meeting Preparation: Help prepare for net-new meetings and sales pitches by preparing debriefs, write-ups, and other materials as needed
  • Campaign Execution: Execute sales outreach, support Account Directors and Account Executives in meetings, and manage follow-up activity to ensure smooth and consistent communication with prospects
  • Data Management: Ensure data accuracy by entering new sales data, and by maintaining and updating Salesforce
  • Sales Projects: Manage key action items and ad hoc requests for business development needs

What you'll bring

  • Experience: 1+ year of experience conducting cold calls and sending cold emails (or other written outreach); experience within a global technology company preferred
  • Sales Hunter Mindset: You consistently strive for and exceed sales targets; there is no goal too large and no client too complex for you
  • Technical Savvy: You enjoy learning new skills and have experience adapting to new platforms quickly; experience with Excel, Salesforce, and Outreach a plus
  • Verbal & Written Communication Skills: You are comfortable communicating to a wide range of audiences with clear, concise, and compelling language
  • Organization: You are process-oriented and enjoy creating and maintaining systems upon which others rely
  • Efficiency: You have excellent time-management skills, can prioritize tasks appropriately, and work to streamline processes
  • Attention to Detail: You are a stickler for punctuation and grammar and consider yourself a go-to proofreading resource
  • Desire to Learn: You have the desire and ability to rapidly learn about new industries and the pain points of our target customers
