Joseph Ohens, JSD, LL.M, CHC has extensive experience in corporate compliance and risk management. Joseph is currently working as the Senior Vice President of Compliance and Risk Management at Open Door Community Health Centers. Prior to this role, they were the Chief Administrative and Compliance Officer at The 22nd Compliance Company.

From 2019 to 2020, Joseph held the position of Chief Compliance & Risk Officer at Clinica Sierra Vista, a multi-site non-profit community health center system. Here, they were responsible for overseeing the system's corporate compliance and risk management programs, conducting risk assessments, and ensuring compliance with various regulatory requirements.

Before that, Joseph worked as the Corporate Compliance, Privacy and Risk Officer at Ravenswood Family Health Center. In this role, they implemented and enforced compliance programs and ensured adherence to applicable standards and regulations.

Joseph also has experience in program management and executive coordination. Joseph served as the Director of Programs/Executive Coordinator at Dignity Health, where they oversaw various operational areas and ensured compliance with healthcare regulations. Additionally, they worked as the Head of Priest Personnel/Assistant to Bishop at the Diocese of Charlestom, managing compliance programs and investigating allegations of misconduct.

Early in their career, Joseph held leadership positions in media companies, including Managing Director/CEO at First Degree Communications Limited and General Manager/Editor-in-Chief at Beverley Publishers Limited.

Joseph Ohens has a strong background in compliance, risk management, and program coordination, making him a valuable asset in the healthcare industry.

Joseph Ohens obtained their Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) degree in Law from Lagos State University, Faculty of Law, during the period 1999-2006. Prior to that, they pursued an Associate of Arts (AA) degree in Journalism at the Nigerian Institute of Journalism, Ogba, Lagos, from 1989 to 1991. Later on, Ohens attended the University of California, Berkeley - School of Law, where they completed a Master of Laws (LL.M) degree in American/U.S. Law/Legal Studies/Jurisprudence from 2010 to 2011. Lastly, they earned their Doctor of the Science of Law (J.S.D.) degree with a specialization in Energy, Environment, and Natural Resources Law from the University of California, Berkeley - School of Law, spanning from 2012 to 2015.
