Karen Webber

Karen Webber is an accomplished leader in education and youth development with extensive experience in both non-profit and educational sectors. Since June 2015, Karen has served as the Director of Education and Youth Development at Open Society Foundations, focusing on program development for underserved youth in Baltimore City Public Schools and managing the funding portfolio. Prior to this role, Karen held various positions within Baltimore City Public Schools, including Executive Director of the Office of Student Support and Safety, where notable initiatives led to a significant reduction in student suspensions. Karen also excelled as a principal and made impactful contributions as a teacher and coordinator, implementing a well-regarded student court program. Earlier career highlights include leadership positions at the Public Justice Center and Open Housing Center, demonstrating a commitment to social justice and systemic change. Karen holds a Doctor of Law from The University of Texas at Austin and dual Bachelor of Arts degrees in English from Colgate University.
