Tom Fehring

Tom Fehring is a data science professional with extensive experience in various roles across multiple organizations. Currently serving as the Data Science Lead in Strategic Finance at OpenAI since May 2024, Tom previously worked as a Data Scientist at Airbnb, where time series models were researched and implemented to forecast key metrics and assess the financial impact of initiatives. Earlier roles include Backend Developer at the Center for Astrophysics | Harvard & Smithsonian, Data Scientist at Ledger focusing on casualty insurance profitability forecasting, and Senior Actuarial Analyst at Allianz Life, responsible for significant insurance contract pricing and team leadership in model development. Tom holds a Bachelor of Arts in Actuarial Science from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and is currently pursuing an MBA at the University of California, Berkeley, Haas School of Business.
