Job Summary: 

OpenGov employees are the drivers of our mission critical vision. As the VP of Talent Acquisition you will be responsible for leading our company’s efforts to attract, recruit and retain top talent. Leading from our headquarters in San Francisco, this role will manage, enforce, and lead from the front on all recruiting and the talent acquisition strategy to ensure it aligns with OpenGov’s culture, mission, vision, and values. This individual will be responsible for driving our global recruiting strategy forward, setting the vision for the talent acquisition team, pushing all hiring managers to “raise the bar,”  and setting up new hires and hiring teams alike to be successful. This includes mentoring and developing the recruiting and sourcing teams to live up to their fullest potential, setting impeccably high standards for the candidate experience, and partnering with business leaders on their strategic hiring initiatives to create and consistently outperform on recruiting goals.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute the overall talent acquisition strategy in alignment with company-wide goals and business plan.
  • Develop and lead a talent acquisition organization that includes full-life cycle recruiting, sourcing, analytics, operations, talent branding, and career page management.
  • Relentlessly pursue and close  “A” players in the end-to-end recruitment process, from sourcing and screening to offer negotiation and onboarding.
  • Create a thoughtful, clear metrics-driven approach that tracks, monitors, and evaluates the impact and effectiveness of all programs and initiatives.
  • Analyze data to drive continuous improvement in recruitment processes and outcomes.
  • Drive change and innovation in practices and processes.
  • Create compelling, consistent and empowering messaging for use in recruitment initiatives.
  • Monitor industry trends and adjust strategies as needed to maintain competitiveness in talent acquisition.
  • Partner with executive team members to anticipate future talent requirements,  translating business goals into compelling and effective talent strategies.
  • Champion diversity, equity and inclusion and ensure OpenGov’s commitment to the core values are reflected in all aspects of the recruiting process.
  • Set high standards for the candidate experience, and exceed them.

Requirements and Preferred Experience:

  • 10+ years of experience leading and empowering talent organizations with an emphasis on building high performing teams in growth environments.
  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Enterprise Software experience is strongly preferred.
  • Experience building a global recruiting infrastructure, including processes and tools.
  • Excellent communication and relationship building skills up to the Executive level.
  • Proven success in attracting top talent and delivering consistent results under time pressures while managing multiple priorities & stakeholders.
  • Passion for innovation with a focus on providing an amazing experience to both hiring managers and candidates.
  • Experience driving efficiency and delivering on measurable impact through data.
  • Known for creating best in class global processes that allow teams to execute successfully.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence and negotiate.
  • Natural ability to build trust and rapport with candidates, the recruiting team, and executives and an eye for service and seamless process to create incredible experiences for candidates.
