Ken Richards

Ken Richards has a diverse work experience spanning over several companies. Ken is currently serving as an Engineering Manager at OpenGov Inc. since 2022. Prior to this, they worked at Jama Software from 2013 to 2022, where they held various roles including Senior Engineering Team Lead and Developer, Engineering Technical Lead, and Engineering Manager.

Before joining Jama Software, Ken worked at SeaChange International, which had purchased Flashlight Engineering. At SeaChange International, they worked as a Software Engineer and Technical Lead from 2012 to 2013. Their responsibilities included managing a small team to develop proof of concept applications for the interactive television industry.

Ken also worked at Flashlight Engineering and Consulting from 2009 to 2012, where they served as a Software Engineer and Technical Lead. In this role, they managed a team that developed interactive TV apps and the server infrastructure to deliver them. Ken also served as the Principal Engineer during this time.

Earlier in their career, Ken worked at The Standard from 2006 to 2009 as a Lead Programmer/Analyst. In this role, they developed client-facing web-based applications and oversaw the work of other developers. Ken also worked closely with systems analysts and business experts.

Ken's first job was at Gartner, where they worked as a Senior Software Engineer from 1999 to 2005.

Ken Richards attended the University of Portland from 1983 to 1987, where they earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Engineering. In terms of additional certifications, they obtained several certifications from LinkedIn in various topics such as building relationships while working from home, speaking confidently and effectively, cultivating healthy ambition, and managing emotions at work. These certifications were obtained between October 2021 and February 2022.
