Frances Slater has a diverse work experience spanning over several companies and roles. Frances is currently employed at Opentrons Labworks Inc. as the Senior Director of Strategic Marketing, a position they have held since February 2023. Prior to this, they worked at Opentrons Labworks Inc. as the Head of Content Marketing from February 2022 to January 2023.

Frances Slater obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from the University of Nottingham between 1999 and 2002. Frances further pursued their education at the same university and completed a Master of Science degree in Environmental Science from 2003 to 2004. Subsequently, Frances attended King's College London, where they achieved a PhD in Environmental Microbiology from 2004 to 2008. In 2011, they briefly enrolled at The University of Queensland and obtained a Graduate Certificate in Higher Education.
