Frances Slater

Frances Slater has a diverse work experience spanning over several companies and roles. Frances is currently employed at Opentrons Labworks Inc. as the Senior Director of Strategic Marketing, a position they have held since February 2023. Prior to this, they worked at Opentrons Labworks Inc. as the Head of Content Marketing from February 2022 to January 2023.

Before joining Opentrons Labworks Inc., Frances worked at QIAGEN, where they held various roles within the Content Marketing department. Frances was the Director and Head of Content Marketing from April 2019 to February 2022, and before that, they served as the Associate Director and Head of Content Marketing from April 2018 to April 2019. Frances also held the position of Senior Marketing Manager and Head of Content Marketing for Regulated Products from April 2017 to April 2018. Prior to their managerial roles, Frances worked as a Senior Technical and Marketing Writer from October 2015 to March 2017 and as a Technical and Marketing Writer from June 2014 to September 2015.

Before joining QIAGEN, Frances worked at infill Kommunikation as a Project Director and Medical Writer from January 2013 to June 2014.

Frances's career began at the University of Queensland, where they worked as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow from June 2008 to January 2012. Frances also served as a PHD Candidate at The Centre for Ecology and Hydrology from 2004 to 2008.

Frances Slater obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from the University of Nottingham between 1999 and 2002. Frances further pursued their education at the same university and completed a Master of Science degree in Environmental Science from 2003 to 2004. Subsequently, Frances attended King's College London, where they achieved a PhD in Environmental Microbiology from 2004 to 2008. In 2011, they briefly enrolled at The University of Queensland and obtained a Graduate Certificate in Higher Education.
