Rob Vretenar is currently the Director of Engineering at OpsLevel. Rob has over 25 years of experience in the field of software development and management.

Rob began their career as a systems consultant at TD Bank in 1996. In 2000, they transitioned to imason inc., where they served as Director of Technology Delivery for eight years. During their time at imason, Rob oversaw the successful implementation of numerous complex software projects.

In 2008, Rob was recruited by St. Joseph Media to serve as their Director of Technology. Rob helped the company successfully navigate the transition from print to digital media. In 2010, they left St. Joseph Media to join The Globe and Mail as their Director of Digital Solutions.

At The Globe and Mail, Rob was responsible for all software development related to delivering content through digital channels - web, mobile, and tablet. Rob successfully engaged, connected, and inspired their team of developers to do great work.

In 2016, Rob left The Globe and Mail to join Amazon as a Senior Software Development Manager. Rob worked in the Supply Chain Optimization Technologies department, where their team was responsible for finding the best place to store inventory for over 50MM items in over 400 warehouses taking into account customer demand at hundreds of demand regions.

In 2020, Rob left Amazon to join PagerDuty as a Senior Engineering Manager. Rob currently serves as the Director of Engineering at OpsLevel.

Rob Vretenar has a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science and Math from Queen's University. Rob also has certification from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology | edX in Machine Learning with Python-From Linear Models to Deep Learning, as well as Probability - The Science of Uncertainty and Data. In addition, Rob Vretenar is a Certified Scrum Master (CSM) and a Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO) from the Scrum Alliance.
