Jonathan Forbes, Ph.D. has a diverse range of work experience. Jonathan currently serves as the Director of Strategic Partnerships at Orangewood Foundation, where they focus on building internal and external partnerships to support strategic planning and fundraising efforts. Prior to this, they worked as a Grant Writer for the Division of Student Affairs at UC Santa Barbara, where they were responsible for securing funding for scholarship funds and student support programs. Jonathan also has experience as an Instructor of English & Writing at UC Santa Barbara and as a Graduate Admissions Coordinator in the Graduate Division at UCSB. Jonathan's earlier work experience includes roles as a Writing and Study Skills Tutor at UC Santa Barbara and as an Assistant Store Manager for Subway & Cold Stone Creamery, where they supervised daily operations and managed a diverse staff.

Jonathan Forbes, Ph.D. completed their education at UC Santa Barbara. Jonathan obtained their Bachelor of Arts degree in English & Spanish from 2003 to 2007. Jonathan then pursued their Master of Arts in English from 2009 to 2012. Subsequently, they went on to earn their Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in English from 2009 to 2018.

In addition to their academic degrees, Jonathan Forbes obtained a Certification in Contract and Grant Administration. Jonathan completed this certification in May 2019 at the Sponsored Projects Training for Administrators in Research (STAR), UCSB Office of Research.
